Court to deliver judgement on Oscar Pistorius today

After months of harrowing court hearings and evidences, double amputee sprinter Oscar Pistorius accused of murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp at his home in Pretoria on Valentine's Day last year, will know his fate by tomorrow as Judge Thokozile Masipa delivers her long-awaited verdict. If found guilty, Pistorius could be jailed for 25 years.

Pistorius arrived at the courthouse at 8am in a dark suit and white shirt.  He was surrounded by a ring of bodyguards and police who escorted him through a scrum of reporters, supporters and television cameras. He appeared calm, staring straight ahead and making no comment.

Appearing tense with a sick bucket by his side in the dock, Pistorius looked on as Judge Thokozile Masipa called Pretoria's High Court to order.

Thokozile has analysed more than 4,000 pages of evidence before reaching her decision. Her ruling will likely be laid out in two days of careful legal argument and then a final verdict, perhaps tomorrow. More pics from the courthouse after cut…
