FAAN denies alleged US Marshal’s syringe attack at MMA

Few days ago ABC broke a report that a US Marshall has been placed under quarantine in Houston after he was injected with a syringe full of unknown substance at the Lagos Airport during his recent visit to Nigeria. The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has denied that such incident ever occurred in Nigeria. Below is a press statement released by the GM, corporate communications of FAAN Yakubu Dati:

“The attention of The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has been drawn to a story making the rounds, that a US Marshall was assaulted at the Murtala Mohammed airport, Lagos.
Following the report, a team from the US Embassy met with the airport Joint Security team, and at there request, viewed footages of the movement of the said marshal captured on our CCTV cameras.
Preliminary observation from the CCTV footages did not show evidence of such occurrence.
Relevant security agencies have since commenced investigation into the matter.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria wishes to assure all air travellers and the general public of our commitment to safety and security of our airports.’
