The remains of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Mr. Sunny Ofilii was laid to rest today Friday Sept 5 in Asaba, Delta state. His funeral rites began yesterday with a service of songs at Issele-Azagba followed by a Valedictory State Executive Council session at the Unity Hall and then a funeral service at the Dominion Christian Centre and final interment at his Asaba residence. Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and other top government officials were in attendance.
Sunny Ofili died on August 9 in a fatal accident after the SUV he was travelling in along with his son and the Obi of Issele-Uku, Henry Ezeagwunam crashed into a stationery lorry laden with gravel at Otulu Junction on the Benin-Asaba-Onitsha expressway. The car somersaulted several times and burst into flames. All three passengers were burnt to death.
