Veteran journalist and former deputy-managing director of Sun Newspaper Pastor Dimgba Igwe is dead. He was knocked down by a hit- and-run driver this morning Sept 6th while he was jogging around his resident in Okota, Lagos. Dimgba sustained fatal injuries and was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead. He was aged 58.
Late Dimgba was also an Assistant General overseer of Evangel Pentecostal Church. He alongside his closest friend Mike Awoyinfa pioneered the now rested Weekend Concord newspaper. The duo teamed up again as founding deputy managing director and managing director of the Sun newspaper group owned by former Governor Orji Uzor Kalu. They were removed four years ago and together they founded Entertainment Express.
He co-authored popular books like, Osoba: The Newspaper Years, The Arts of Feature Writing and Mike Adenuga: The Business Guru amongst others. Until his death Igwe continued to write a back page column for The Sun that appeared every Tuesday. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
