Assassins kill UNILAG security chief at beer parlour (photo)

Suspected assassins on Friday August 29 shot dead the Head of Operations, Security Unit, University of Lagos, Mr. Sunday Adejumo at a beer parlour on Oyenuga Street in the Akoka area of Lagos on Friday evening.

The deceased was in the joint with three of his friends when some men stormed the pub, went straight to Mr. Sunday’s table, shot him in the chest before firing shots at him. He died some minutes later because he could not get help on time.

A resident said the owner of the drinking house had been arrested and was being interrogated at the Bariga Police Station…

“The incident happened around 8.30pm on Friday. We suddenly heard gunshots and we all rushed into our different houses because we did not know what exactly happened. It was later we learnt that one of those in the beer parlour was killed.
It was not a robbery because they did not steal anything or injure anybody else. Immediately they killed him, they left.”
Another source, said Adejumo might have been killed by suspected cultists…

“When the gang got in, they went to where he was sitting. They had different weapons, ranging from cutlasses to guns. One of them went to him, hit him in the chest and he fell down. He then brought out a gun and shot him point blank.
On the table where he was drinking with his friends were a pay slip, his ATM cards and his car key.”
Mr. Adejumo’s corpse was taken to the police station late in the night from where it was taken to the Yaba mortuary.

This man spent fortune on girl he met on dating site only to realize he’s been duped

Eya, poor guy. The guy is lamenting on twitter after he was duped by a girl he met on a dating site. Dolce Gabs met the said lady on dating site called Plenty of Fish (POF) and he’s been splashing fortune on her so he could get in between her legs.

It all started with her telling him she had clocked 30. To show her ‘levels,’ he asked her what she wanted. The sharp girl said a Michael Kors wristwatch and a trip to Morrocco … and of course the father Christmas obliged. He also paid for her to go for a Rak adventure in Marrakech.  She even requested 3rd party use of his MasterCard…thank god he didn’t fall mugu.

Then he decided it was time to ask for the p*ssy and the girl went hump on him…Lol. By his calculation he’s spent over a thousand dollars on this girl…yet no show.  During all this time they’ve never met face to face.
The poor guy decided to unburden his pain to his twitter fans only to be told he is not her first victim. Continue to see their chart after cut…

'Boko haram is funded through CBN,’ Australian negotiator says

Boko haram negotiator Dr. Stephen Davis says the  insurgents are being funded by a senior official with the Central Bank of Nigeria. In an interview with TheCable, the Australian says Western countries could not trace the majority of the source of funding to the sect because “it is done through a legal channel, through the gatekeeper, the CBN, and that makes it very easy to cover up.” He also said the Boko Haram commanders told him a senior CBN official, who currently works in the bank’s currency operations division, was the one handling the transactions.

“One of the biggest of suppliers of arms and military uniforms to the JAS (Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad, better known as Boko Haram) currently lives in Cairo, Egypt. He is the recipient of money sent by political sponsors from Nigeria. The funds go through the CBN’s financial system and appear to be a legal transaction.

Meanwhile, the CBN official who handles the funding is an uncle to three of those arrested in connection with the Nyanya bombings. The three boys lived with him. They were arrested by the SSS (Department of State Security) after the bombings but they do not seem to have been interrogated about their uncle in CBN. Or if they have given up information about their uncle then the SSS has not moved against him.
Also, a senior official of CBN, who recently left the bank, was very close to Sodiq Aminu Ogwuche, the mastermind of the Nyanya bombings who also schooled in Sudan. Boko haram commanders said Ogwuche’s wife used to visit this top official in his office at the headquarters of the bank in Abuja before the Nyanya bombings. They were very close,” Davis said.
On why he decided to speak up Davis says...

“I have three daughters. I just cannot stand the thought of what those girls are passing through. I have spoken to an escapee who described how she was being raped for 40 days by militants. I can’t stand it. It is heart-breaking. Nigerian authorities must act decisively now.’

Australian tells how Chibok girls were snatched by another gang 15minutes to rescue

Stephen Davis was invited to Nigeria by President Goodluck Jonathan to help negotiate the release the Chibok girls who were kidnapped in their school by the boko haram sect on April 14. Mr. Davis who also
The 63-year-old former Canon Emeritus at Coventry Cathedral in the UK who has extensive contacts with African terrorist groups was also responsible for brokering a truce between the Federal Government and Niger Delta militants in 2004, when he was working for the company Shell.

He told the ABC he was only 15 minutes away from retrieving 60 of the kidnapped girls from insurgents after securing them through negotiations, when they were snatched by a second rebel group:

'I made a few phone calls to the Boko Haram commanders and they confirmed they were in possession of the girls. They told me they'd be prepared to release some as a goodwill gesture towards a peace deal with the government, so I went to Nigeria on the basis of being able to secure their release.

There are several groups to deal with as the girls are held in several camps. This makes any thought of a rescue highly improbable. To attempt to rescue one group would only endanger the others. Every day there is the possibility of the release of the girls.
We travelled for four-and-a-half hours to reach them, but 15 minutes before we arrived they were kidnapped again by another group who wanted to cash in on a reward, Mr Davis. The girls ended up back with their original captors,’ Davis told ABC.
Davis also revealed that four of the kidnapped girls managed to successfully escape their captors and meet their families with the help of a young man who was formerly kidnapped by the same group.

A mobile phone that had been hidden in the bra of one of the girls helped them contact their parents and receive directions to cross the border from Cameroon back to Nigeria.
